Neural Therapy
in Charlotte and Lake Norman

Restore Communication. Regulate the Nervous System. Support Healing From the Inside Out.

At Benton Integrative Medicine, we believe the body is designed to heal when communication systems are functioning properly. Neural therapy is one of the ways we help restore that communication—supporting nervous system regulation, reducing interference patterns, and encouraging the body’s innate healing response.

Serving patients throughout the Charlotte, Huntersville, Denver, Cornelius, Mooresville, and Lake Norman areas, our integrative team uses neural therapy as part of a personalized, root-cause approach to wellness and recovery.

What is Neural Therapy

Neural therapy is a gentle treatment that uses small amounts of a local anesthetic—most commonly procaine—to help reset dysfunctional nervous system signaling patterns within the body.

Over time, injuries, surgeries, scars, infections, chronic inflammation, stress, or trauma can create what are known as “interference fields.” These areas may disrupt normal communication within the autonomic nervous system and contribute to persistent symptoms elsewhere in the body.

Neural therapy aims to restore healthy communication and regulation so the body can function more efficiently and heal more effectively.

Unlike traditional injections that are designed only to suppress pain or inflammation, neural therapy focuses on supporting the nervous system itself.

How Neural Therapy Works

The autonomic nervous system helps regulate:

  • Pain signaling

  • Inflammation

  • Organ function

  • Circulation

  • Hormonal balance

  • Stress response

  • Healing and repair

When communication becomes disrupted, the body may remain stuck in patterns of tension, inflammation, or dysregulation.

Neural therapy works by helping interrupt these dysfunctional signaling loops and supporting a more balanced physiologic state.

Many patients report:

  • A sense of calm or relaxation

  • Reduced tension

  • Improved mobility

  • Better regulation and resilience

  • Symptom improvement over time

Understanding Neural Therapy

Conditions Neural Therapy May Support

Patients in the Charlotte and Lake Norman area often seek neural therapy for support with:

  • Chronic pain

  • Neck and back pain

  • Scar tissue discomfort or restriction

  • C-section scars and surgical scars

  • Headaches and migraines

  • TMJ dysfunction

  • Chronic inflammation

  • Stress-related nervous system dysregulation

  • Autonomic imbalance

  • Digestive complaints

  • Hormonal imbalance

  • Injury recovery

  • Persistent symptoms that have not fully responded to traditional therapies

Because neural therapy addresses nervous system communication, many patients notice benefits that extend beyond the original treatment area.

What to Expect During Treatment

During your session, a provider will evaluate your health history, symptoms, scars, and nervous system patterns to determine appropriate treatment areas.

The procedure involves very small, superficial injections using a local anesthetic solution. Most patients tolerate treatment well.

Treatment plans are individualized, but many patients begin with a series of 3–5 sessions for cumulative benefit.

Neural therapy may also be combined with other integrative services including:

  • Functional medicine

  • Lifestyle and nutrition support

  • HeartMath® and nervous system regulation work

  • Acupuncture

  • Sauna and red light therapy

  • BioCharger sessions

  • Wellness coaching

If you are looking for a more integrative, nervous-system-focused approach to healing, neural therapy may be an option worth exploring.

Neural Therapy Common Questions

Is neural therapy painful?

Most patients tolerate it very well. The injections are small and superficial, and sessions are generally brief.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on the individual and the condition being addressed. Many patients begin with 3–5 sessions.

Is neural therapy only for pain?

No. While it is commonly used for pain support, neural therapy may also help support nervous system regulation, stress resilience, inflammation, and other chronic patterns.

What areas do you serve?

We provide neural therapy for patients in:

  • Charlotte

  • Huntersville

  • Denver, NC

  • Cornelius

  • Mooresville

  • Davidson

  • Lake Norman and surrounding communities

Is neural therapy safe?

Yes, it is generally considered very safe when performed by a trained medical professional. Because the anesthetic used is highly diluted (usually a 0.5% to 1% solution) and administered in small amounts, the risk of systemic toxicity is incredibly low.

What are the risks and side effects with neural therapy?

Common short term effects: injection pain, bruising, temporary numbness, faintness, brief vegetativecomplaints or emotional reactions. Rare but serious risks include allergic reaction to anesthetic, infection, and (very rarely) organ or nerve injury if injections are placed improperly. Screening foranesthetic allergies and contraindications is recommended.
